In Scotland are a million fashion styles and a lot of different types of looks.
First we were at the Pringle of Scotland Resort 2018 Fashion Show. It was amazing! If you’re in Scotland, you have to go there.
The brand is one of the worlds oldest continually operating fashion companies. The company has stores in London,Shanghai and Glasgow.
After the fashion show I was in the Glasgow „Pringle of Scotland“-store.The clothes aren‘t very cheap, they are very expensive, but of course, cashmere isn‘t cheap 😉
The most clothes are checkerd, like the kilt.(The history of the kilt: 3.)The old Fashion is also very important because the brand „Pringle of Scotland“ is made in the early 18th century.
The old fashion and the new fashion aren‘t so different! Of course you don‘t were a dress ore a kilt (just for special occasions)You wear normal clothes but the Trademark of Scotland is the checkered clothes.

I’ve been studying old Fashion in Scotland. Because I’m very interested in whether you used to wear only the Kilt or other things-and if so what things.
You wore:
Plaid(thin, patterned blankets) mostly made of sheep wool are so comfortable that you can have a warm night in the Scottish winter.
Early until about 1600
One wore leine (simple cut shirt from Irland). The length, color and quality of the fabric depended on where you were rich.
Early 17th century
At the beginning of the 17th century belted plaid stockings, shoes, a bomet (barrett-like cap) or a tam o’shanter began to be worn.
In 1725 the kilt was developed. (I didn’t think the kilt was invented so late)

I was at the Scottish Tartans Museum because I was interested in the history of the scottish kilt.

You must have to visit it. It is very interesting and the people there are so nice and friendly.
They told me a lot about the kilt. Here are some examples:
Who invented it?
Hugh Trevor-Roper invented it in the 1725 with the factory owner Thomas Rawlinson.
Only men wear the kilt?
Only men wear a kilt. Women are wearing something similar. They are called kilted skirt.

Were these kilts worn earlier?
No. Before the kilts were worn, the mans wore Tunikas and long trousers. They are called triuphas and trews.
Did poor people wore kilts too?
Yes, but poor people wore kilts with just one color or simpleplaid kilts. Rich people could buy some with more colors or multicolored kilts.
Now to the history of the kilt:
The history goes back to the end of the 16th century. At first the kilt was called the belted plait or great kilt. It is a full length article of clothing which could be worn as a cloak covered over the shoulder, or brought up over the head as a hood.
The small kilt or walking kilt wasn’t developed until the late 17th or early 18th century.
The word kilt is from the scottish. It means to tuck up the clothes around the body.
After the museum, I went back to my friends. Of course we went shopping. The only bad thing here in Scotland is, that the clothes are so expensive! 😦 That’s why we did’nt really shop. We went to Mc Donalds (I love it♥). The little trip was so exciting and fun. I really wish that I live here. The nature and all these stuffs are so beautiful.
So guys that was it with our trip! I hope you like it 🙂
See you next time. Bye! ;)♥
